This Process can be complex, costly and time-consuming. Companies can sometimes underestimate what is involved in reaching a final decision on a preferred Vendor and Solution in terms of required time, cost and in ensuring that the correct decision is made.

 

The subsequent steps of final Price and Contract Negotiations and Implementation of the selected System also present unique challenges for the buying organisation.

Based on our extensive experience of the Construction & Contracting Sector and the System Evaluation & Selection Process, should you be planning to implement at least a 5 End User System, SCM Consulting will work with you as an Independent Consultant in the identification, shortlisting and selection of Vendors and Software Solutions encompassing:

This Consultancy can extend from selected individual activities within key stages, as stated below, or can encompass a full Consultancy Service embracing all of them:

​

• Work with you to provide any necessary input on the content of your initial Vendor Request For Information (RFI) and your detailed Software Requirements Document (SRD). We can provide modifiable RFI and SRD Templates depending on your requirements.

​

• Discuss and confirm with you your realistic System Budget, as well as Vendor Selection and Implementation Timetable for the new System.

​

• In parallel with the above, we can identify the initial list of potential Vendors to receive your RFI via market research and attendance at nationwide industry-specific events and exhibitions, either independently or with members of your System Evaluation Team. 

​

• Review of the RFI responses with you to produce a shortlist of typically 3 or 4 potential Software Vendors to invite to respond to the SRD.

​

• Review of the SRD responses with you and provide help to arrange the detailed on-site Vendor Software Demonstrations, which we will attend with you.

​​

• Provide feedback on the Vendor Software Demonstrations to help with your final decision on the preferred Software Vendor.

​

• Input on final negotiations with the preferred Vendor including the final price of the Software and Implementation Services as well as the content of their Terms & Conditions Agreement.

​

• Finally, SCM Consulting will work with you and your Implementation Team during the critical Roll-Out Phases of the selected System until Go Live via attendance at Internal and Vendor Review Meetings.
